At HLID, we believe that design is rooted in the desire to reflect and restore our individuality and input into places and objects that we see and use on a day-to-day basis. We believe that design should always be sustainable and harmless to the environment. Based on this belief, we work with several NGOs to convert recycled products into beautiful pieces of art.
HLID chooses to work with Bank el-Kesaa to reconstruct their products to ones with higher value in both design and functionality. Our team of designers used their distinct intuition and creativity, in order to transform unsellable products to stunning pieces that bear an elegant signature style. All proceeds go to Bank el-Kesaa, helping the NGO fulfil their mission to serve the less fortunate.
Akhmim, a beautiful city in Upper Egypt, widely renowned for its high-quality production of textiles, hand-sewn on looms using fabrics from cotton and silk. Among their merits is its heritage, a blend of ancient and modern cultures that creates an unparalleled unique identity We started an initiative along with other development agencies to empower and motivate the Akhmimi women and handcrafters to bring their custom-made products to life, and believe their experience, creativity, and attention to quality matches our own.
